Biography

Since 1992, after a career as a visual arts and cultural teacher, BAREND ( Jan Barend van Dam) devotes all his time to painting.
Born in 1940, since his childhood, it was his dream to be able to work as an artist.

An education at the academies of Amersfoort and Amsterdam made it possible for him to teach. His expositions brought his work more in publicity and popularity. The work from Barend is mainly dominated by abstract figures, in wich the female body plays the leading part.

The rounding in it is the theme, that also leads him in the abstracted landscapes, still lifes and completely abstract paintings. Beside it, an almost burning colour brings great warmth to the work.
